Welcome to the Northeast Regional Office Environmental Analyses and National Environmental Policy Act Program

The Northeast Regional Office National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) program is responsible for facilitating the compliance of regional actions with NEPA and other laws and executive orders that impose requirements for environmental, social, and economic analyses. The group works with regional and council staff to improve the timeliness, quality, and consistency of NEPA environmental documentation and the NEPA process in general.

  • To promote efforts that will prevent, mitigate, or eliminate damage to the environment,
  • To promote efforts that will stimulate the health and welfare of humans,
  • To enrich the understanding of the ecological systems and natural resources important to the Nation, and
  • To establish a Council on Environmental Quality.
