Recommended Progress Report Formats, New England B-WET
In response to requests from B-WET grant recipients, the following report guidance is offered. Note that while reporting is mandatory, there is no mandatory progress report format. Please submit all progress reports through the NOAA Grants-On-Line system at https://grantsonline.rdc.noaa.gov.
Suggested semi-annual progress report 1 format/content (2-5 page limit)
- Project Identification
- Organization Title
- Project Title
- Award Number
- Report Period
- Introduction - A very brief summary of the project and target audience.
- Purpose/Goals - List the objectives and goals of the project. The goals and objectives should be taken directly from the grant proposal.
- Approach - Describe the work that has been performed.
- Results - The actual accomplishments to date. Both the approach and results should be linked directly to the goals and objectives that you note in this report and in the proposal. At the end of each 12 month period of a multi-year project, it would be useful to have the following outputs for the entire year:
- Output period (calendar year if possible, project year if not)
- Number of students reached , include contact hours with students, number of underserved youth reached 2
- Number of teachers reached, include contact hours with teachers
- Problems - Outline any problems or programmatic changes that have been made to the project (provide linkages to the project proposal). If any goals or objectives were not met, or only partially met, explain why and describe how any issues will be addressed moving forward. Describe any other problems including, when appropriate, analysis and explanation of cost overruns or high unit costs. Explain how these problems/changes have affected the approach and/or results and how they will be addressed moving forward.
- How to improve the project - Outline how you will adapt/improve the program if funded the following year.

When are semi-annual performance reports due? Semi-annual reports are due for each 6 month period of the grant, no later than one month after each semi-annual reporting period ends. You will continue to submit a semi-annual report each 6 month period until your award period is complete. This means that if you are a multi-year grant recipient, or have received a no cost extension, you will not need to submit a comprehensive final progress report until the end of your entire project period. Your progress report due dates will be posted on Grants On Line and you will be notified via email when the report is due and when it is delinquent.
What do you mean by underserved population? Reported information can include (but please specify) the ethnic (minority and English as a second language students), gender (percentage females), and social (participants in free or reduced lunch - may include minority and female students) demographics of the participants. |
