New American Lobster Broodstock Protection Measures and Effort Reduction in Offshore Area 3
NOAA Fisheries Service announces new Federal American lobster regulations in the Exclusive Economic Zone, consistent with recommendations for Federal action in Addenda II, III, IV and XI to Amendment 3 of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Interstate Fishery Management Plan for American Lobster. The new management measures implements new Federal lobster regulations to facilitate lobster broodstock protection and trap fishing effort reduction in Lobster Conservation Management Area 3 (Area 3). NOAA Fisheries Service has published a final rule in the Federal Register, which describes the changes.
