Atlantic Sturgeon

  • Proactive Conservation Program Grant funding was awarded to the Maine Department of Marine Resources for Atlantic sturgeon research on the Kennebec River, ME
  • University of Southern Maine and New Hampshire has received funding for Atlantic sturgeon research on the Saco River, ME
  • U.S. Geological Survey has received funding for satellite tagging Atlantic sturgeon on the Merrimack River, MA
  • Delaware State University has received funding for Atlantic sturgeon sampling along the coast of Delaware with Endeavor Fisheries, which is a collaborative effort between commercial fisherman and Delaware State University
  • University of Maine has received funding for tagging and tracking Atlantic sturgeon on the Penobscot and Kennebec Rivers in Maine

Alewives

  • University of Southern Maine has received funding for a genetics study on alewives
  • University of Maine has received funding for a stable isotope analysis study on alewives
  • U.S. Geological Survey and New York University have received funding for genetics research

Sand Tiger Sharks

  • Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries has received funding for a tagging and tracking study on sand tiger sharks
  estuary
