Northeast Region Marine Mammal Grant Program
The NOAA Fisheries Service Northeast Region's Protected Resources Division (PRD) administers the Northeast Region Marine Mammal Grant Program, whose first competition was announced on February 25, 2011. NOAA Fisheries Service seeks the submission of proposals addressing high-priority research and management needs that have been identified for PRD's Marine Mammal Program. Priorities have been identified for the following sub-programs operating within PRD's Marine Mammal Program: Take Reduction Planning, Ship Strike Reduction Program, Marine Mammal Viewing Program, Northeast Region Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response Program, Large Whale Disentanglement Program, and Northeast Region Marine Mammal Outreach and Education Program.

Applications for the FY 2011 competition were due April 26, 2011. Submitted application packages are currently being reviewed. Any awarded projects will be added to the PRD Grants and Research Projects website.
