FISHERY MANAGEMENT PLANS
BLACK SEA BASS
Implementing regulations for these fisheries are found at 50 CFR Part 648 Subpart I
The black sea bass fishery is managed cooperatively by the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council and the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission. The commercial fishery is managed through an annual coastwide quota. Recreational regulations are generally the same in Federal and state waters. In cases where state and Federal regulations differ, federally permitted charter/party vessels are required to abide by the more restrictive measure.
