FISHERY MANAGEMENT PLANS
ATLANTIC SURFCLAM AND OCEAN QUAHOG
Implementing regulations for these fisheries are found at 50 CFR Part 648 Subpart E
The Atlantic Surfclam and Ocean Quahog fisheries are managed by the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council. These fisheries utilize an individual transferable quota (ITQ) to regulate commercial fishing. Please visit the Surfclam and Ocean Quahog clam webpage for more information on ITQ program.
