FISHERY MANAGEMENT PLANS
ATLANTIC SEA SCALLOP - INDIVIDUAL FISHING QUOTA (IFQ) PROGRAM
Implementing regulations for these fisheries are found at 50 CFR Part 648 Subpart D
The Atlantic Sea Scallop fishery is managed by the New England Fishery Management Council. Amendment 11 was developed by the New England Fishery Management Council and established the individual fishing quota (IFQ) program for the limited access general category fleet (LAGC) of scallop vessels, as well as other important measures to control fishing mortality and capacity in the LAGC scallop fishery.
